Coffee....

Rich, delicious, savory, bold, aromatic, steaming, smooth, calming, invigorating, coffee.

This is my favorite way to brew up a cup these days....
The Bean:  Komodo Dragon Blend from Starbucks
Tasting Notes: Herbal, Cedary Spice
Flavor Intensity: Bold

6 scoops of beans
Grind to perfection for my french press

Brew for 4 minutes.

Pour and enjoy with a bit of vanilla cream.

So, how do you brew your favorite cup? Inquiring minds want to know. Pot or Press? Bean or ground?  Cream or Black?

  1. Great post! My favorite beans are Major Dickasons from Peets or Caffe Verona from Starbucks. I keep the bag in the freezer and take them out only when I'm about to grind them. I normally use the coffee pot for convenience, but definitely endulge in the press as often as I can:-) I drink it black, but the vanilla cream sounds awesome too:-) I also love sprinkling it with cinnamon, especially in the fall and winter. It adds this awesome warmth to it:-) ~Megan

I let my "personal assistant" make my shot (DeLonghi Magnifica machine, Sisters Coffee Espresso Blend with steamed milk) -- and then I add Ghirardelli sweet ground chocolate and 2 1/2 pumps of DaVinci Sugar-Free Toasted Marshmallow Syrup. Our other favorite espresso blend is one Coffee People has at the airport. I can't find it online.

  3. I brew up my Folgers (strong) in my lovely little drip machine then add lots of sugar for the perfect cup of coffee. It really is the best part of waking up!

  4. Tully's Madison blend is my favorite. Ground coarse in my burr mill - brewed in my french press - usually black, maybe a little half-n-half if I'm feeling soft that day. But never flavor. I want to taste the coffee.

    My proudest achievement - getting my husband to drink black coffee. For years I drank my coffee alone. Then the mister started drinking iced caramel lattes. Then caramel lattes. Then we bought an espresso machine because buying lattes is expensive (I know, so are the machines, but it paid for itself with a few months of use). Then he started to want less and less caramel. Then he liked americanos with cream. THEN, oh then, he started drinking black french press with me. There is just something so relational and intimate about SHARING a cup o' joe.

    Perhaps I shouldn't be bragging that my husband has the same addiction as me. Well, at least it isn't crack.
